Tara Murphy

Hi! My name is Tara Murphy. I am a self-proclaimed Blogger, foodie, and travel fanatic. Yes, I am one of those people who takes pictures of their food. Why? Because it is delicious, end of story. I created my first blog in January, 2012 before I started my 11-month journey around the world. I am now settled back in Toronto, Canada and am started a little thing called REAL LIFE. What even is real life? Who knows. All I know is I love life and I love writing. So I write about life, all aspects of it. The good and the bad.

Saving in your 20’s

I was inspired to write this post after reading about this so-called “50/20/30” rule that the Internet is trying to teach 20-somethings. I am here to help you Get Real.  Some of you may know, I am currently taking my Canadian Securities Course, which is an in depth study of investing, retirement planning, taxation on … Continue reading

The City That Never Sleeps

It may seem strange, but after all my worldly adventures I had still never been to New York City (until a month ago!). The flight is only an hour and a half from Toronto .. So you’d think I would have made it there. I didn’t however, because it seems I am a sun baby … Continue reading

Dream board

This year on my birthday I made a dream board. I was so proud of everything I put into and what it represented. Yesterday, I started making my outdoor zen space – and placed the dream board right in the center of it. I woke up this morning … and my dream board is nowhere … Continue reading

Sunsets

There is never a sunrise or a sunset that is exactly the same. Each day if different. Each day brings new endings and new beginnings. How do you feel when the sun sets? Does it make you feel tiny? Or big? There’s something great about both. The sun setting means another day has passed. Memories … Continue reading

The “Yeah-but”.

It has been just over 24 hours since I was on plane last. I spent 10 days in the beautiful T&T. Trinidad and Tobago. It felt good to check that one off my list ..  Another new place I discovered! My boyfriend, Kenny, is half Trinidadian, so a lot of his family still live in … Continue reading

Balance

I’ve been back from my year abroad for about 13 months now. You’d think that I would be back into the full swing of things. YOU’D THINK. But I still wake up every morning with something pulling on my heart strings. A confusion between what I am SUPPOSED to do, and what I WANT to … Continue reading

My Day-to-Day Itinerary of Backpacking SouthEast Asia.

Since arriving back from my travels, I have gotten a weekly email (at least) from someone asking me more information about how I do it, where I went, prices of things, etc. While I was in Southeast Asia, I wrote a journal every day. I wrote about my experiences, but most importantly I noted which … Continue reading
