Thoughts for Today

Stay Motivated, be a Do-er!

Here’s the thing, friends. It’s really easy in todays world to get distracted. With all the tweets, bleeps, posts, likes, blogs, trends; its hard to stay focused. Truth is, we are all guilty of these distractions. Even reading my post right now may be a distraction. HOWEVER I am here to inspire you.
I woke up this morning tired and unmotivated. Looking at my calendar and seeing that I have to be back at the bar at 4:30, gave me an immediate countdown. When I have a full 10 hour shift ahead, its easy to just become a vegetable until 4:30 and watch whole seasons of dexter.
INSTEAD, I look at my day in terms of how many productive things can I get done before my 10 hour shift? How many things can I cross off of my list? How can I grow my personal network today? All of these things are little things that are not necessarily challenging, but just time consuming. You need to have the motivation to be a “DO-er”.
You are either a “DO-er” or youre not. Being a “DO-er”, as I call it is pretty intense. Some of my best friends hate that I’m a so called DO-er. I want something done, I do it. I have my mind set on something, BOOM, I do it. It can be overwhelming to those that aren’t Do-ers… but doing crosses things off of my list, and it feels great!
My point is, there’s always something we can be doing to stay motivated. Watch an inspirational video, read an inspirational blog, take a look at some of your career heros – I bet you they got out of bed this morning. Cross things off your list. If you don’t have a list to begin with, thats you’re first problem. MAKE ONE! Even if your list says “laundry”, or “call the bank”, crossing out those little things makes a huge difference in your motivation and daily morale. You’ll become a “Do-er” before you know it!

  2. OK, so good job… can you email some of my staff that message LOL. I wrote on FB today that it was the first day since I started this job that I got home before dark and I usually leave when it is dark… but my hubby told me the doctor said he had a “slight” heart attack in the recent past so sometimes the part of the DOer is to DO it with loved ones… doing it, is just being there, calling, sending an email or posting I LOVE YOU, so the do’ers that we are.. I am doing something productive baby girl. I LOVE YOU!!! pass it on.
    So proud!

  3. Thank you for the motivation! I am worker hard to be a “Do er” myself. I do well getting things done for other people, just not myself. I own an errand service and find that I may need to hire myself. LOL.
